And itâs now within reach.
There are a number of ways to assess the current availability of Scripture to people and languages around the world, as well as to understand what is still needed to provide the gospel to âevery nation, tribe, people and languageâ (Revelation 7:9).
At JAARS, we are not translatorsâso we look to those who are for this information.
The numbers we are focused onânearly 600 million people speaking roughly 5,000 languages having less than a full New Testament in the language they understand bestâcome from research compiled by Wycliffe Global Alliance as seen here.
And since our role is to help make Bible translation and language development possible, our focus is not on the number of new translation projects that must be started (although this is obviously critical). Rather, we are driven to provide the years of logistical support many of these off-the-grid projects will need to finish their work and put Scripture into the hands of Godâs children.
